It uses recent scholarship which claims that Israel came into existence in the Highlands around 1250 BCE as a federation of heterogenous groups of marginalized people.  The author reconstructs both the person and the book of Amos by relying on works by Gottwald, Hopkins and Coote.  This sociological approach provides the preacher with new insights into the Biblical tradition and illuminates numerous connections of consequence for today's society. Pastors in three Presbyterian churches lead their elders in field testing of the design.  Participants take pre- and post-tests and provide concluding evaluations which show significant increases in knowledge and understanding of baptism.  Testing the design in churches with the pastors as leaders demonstrates that the program can be used effectively by others. Evangelism is discussed from the two perspectives of General Evangelism and In-House Evangelism.  General Evangelism concentrates on witnessing to persons who are not members of a particular Christian religious body and to persons who have not accepted Jesus Christ as the Lord and Saviour. In-House Evangelism focuses on involving persons of the local church in the total life of the church.  Evangelism in prisons and hospitals is also discussed.  The project emphasizes the personal preparation of the individual evangelist in terms of mental stability and spiritual strength.  The project is evaluated from the three perspectives of the participants, the class leaders in the church and the DMin candidate. The findings confirm the hypothesis. This theory recognized that each student brought with him or her a personal understanding which could be built upon through feeling, observing, thinking and doing to become a biblical concept.  The study projected that new knowledge would be created through process theology by the transformation of experience.  It employed the direct encounter method of creative drama through the modes of comedy and tragedy. The author reviewed pertinent literature -- sociological, psychological and theological -- and used questionnaires and interviews in her research.  The main questions addressed the clergywomen's ages, the touching in their families of origin and their use of touch in ministry. Each woman reported instances of therapeutic and non-therapeutic touching and the response of the parishioner-patient-client as well as their own responses to these instances. This project depicts the kinds of stress this type of caregiver has to endure.  How is a nurse affected by the stress, and how does it affect her religious practices and beliefs?  The project finds that: 1) the work forces a nurse to evaluate her religious practices of the past, to determine their relevance for the present and to act accordingly.  A weak bond snaps.  A strong one strengthens. Case studies and verbatims supplemented class presentations. Pre- and post-event instruments and interviews supplemented the evaluation data. Significant changes in the understanding and practice of caregiving as ministry were noted.
