The objective of this project was to study the spiritual care of missionaries within the ministry context of Make Way Partners (MWP). The ministry context of MWP is to prevent and combat human trafficking. The context of this project was in the country of Sudan, in and near Darfur.In particular, the study addressed the possibility that the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator might aid the leadership of MWP in predicting how missionaries might respond to stress in the field. Also, the project provided an opportunity to find a tool to help evaluate those missionaries who experience trauma due to the stress of the field. The findings revealed student growth in three goal areas: greater cultural understanding, greater appreciation for life situation, and greater motivation to serve. The project explored biblical foundations and the causes and consequences of families in homeless crisis. It also examined similarities between “service learning” in the public schools and integrative ministry. The equipping model was a relevant and applicable model to meet the needs addressed by this project. The project director selected a team of leaders from Blackhawk Ministries to be trained in biblical discipleship skills. In preparation for that training the project director researched the field of discipleship, built an annotated bibliography, and developed a list of core competencies to be incorporated into a curriculum created to equip the selected leaders. Three specific goals guided the course of the project. Those goals were to (1) research the field of discipleship to identify core biblical discipleship competencies, (2) develop a curriculum to equip selected leaders, and (3) equip selected leaders with discipleship competencies. To ensure the meeting of these goals, the project director utilized curriculum design training, research, expert evaluators, rubrics, checklists, evaluation forms, and training sessions. Insight has value onlywhen shared with others. A series of mnemonic devices found in Scripture are keys to maintaining a successful spiritual walk. These methods, proven throughout church history, require diligent retention and dispersal of information in the context of relational support. Ethnographic research in rural Ostfrisian communities indicates that when routinely practiced, these methods form broad spiritual patterns that reflect a deepening commitment to faith issues. This project reveals indicators that assist eidetic recall of spiritual events. The project sought to expand on the project by Pastor Michael Carney in 2015 which established the vision, mission, and core values of Calvary baptist church. the vision-driven leadership strategy served as a further implementation and development of the vision. To accomplish this purpose, the project director first conducted research in the area of adult discipleship. From his research, he identified four competencies that he determined are essential to effective disciple-making, namely gospel competency, head competency, heart competency, and hands competency. He then created a four-session curriculum based on the identified competencies in order to equip a small group of selected adults in the are of discipleship. He implemented the curriculum in four one-hour meetings over the course of four weeks. The project director enlisted the help of experts in the fields of disciple-making and curriculum design in order to ensure the quality and success of the project. The qualitative research project required Biblical and contemporary literature study in learning leadership behaviors, transferring leadership behaviors, mentoring, healthy leadership, and recognizing potential in people.     The project utilized a multi-phased approach to methodology. There was a survey and focus group discussion preceding a Leadership Lab involving the people in existing senior leadership positions. The purpose of the first phase was equipping the people in existing senior leadership positions with the skill necessary to equip others.      In the second phase, the people in existing senior leadership positions recruited mentees to cultivate them for effective leadership behaviors in potential leadership positions. A Field Guide was provided for the mentors, and data were recorded through bi-weekly meetings of the researcher with the mentors and Field Guides, Leadership Profiles, focus groups, and formal and informal interviews. The results were evaluated, and modifications for future use were presented.     The researcher concluded the process was successful in producing people who were cultivated with effective leadership behaviors for potential leadership positions by equipping the people in existing senior leadership positions. In order for the process to be undertaken subsequently in this researcher’s congregation, the first Leadership Lab and the book studied during the mentoring phase needed to change. For other congregations to benefit from the process, additional instructions would need to be provided.
