This research and development of an eight-week theology class for the church is framed in three hypotheses: (1) After this class, church members will have an increased knowledge and understanding of essential doctrines of the Christian faith, (2) After this class, church members will be able to communicate the essential doctrines of the Christian faith, and (3) After this class, church members will value theological understanding more than they did before the class. The project was designed to impact the participants' spiritual formation by teaching them how to practice ancient incarnational disciplines in both their personal context and in their daily routines. The results of the project revealed that when participants practiced the specific incarnational disciplines they experienced a greater degree of spiritual formation. The author conducted a six-week seminar, which immersed participants in a financial literacy class that taught both tactical and spiritual approaches to finances. The analysis of the responses of participants indicated that having faith as a part of their financial teaching was instrumental in their motivation to complete the program as well as implement it. Multiple forms of demographic data were considered in order to identify the age ranges, socio-economic status, and behaviors that contribute to students becoming at-risk. Interviews with local and state agencies along with local school officials were conducted to ascertain what forms of assistance are available to students and if any proactive interventions are in place to prevent students from slipping into the at-risk category. The project included three main phases: research, strategy development, and presentation. Phase one researched demographics of Theodore, Alabama and numerous books on church planting, church revitalization, and church health. The project director also attended three workshops on church planting. An annotated bibliography was used to design a curriculum for phase two. Phase two selected a group of church leaders from First Baptist Church of Theodore who met for five sessions to study the best practices of church planting and develop a church plant strategy for FBCT. Phase three completed the project as the church plant strategy team designed a strategy and a written narrative before presenting the proposal to the deacon body of FBCT. Equipping selected adults with disciple-making skills for gender-based groups will potentially address the need for multiplication of disciple groups. Making disciples through gender-based groups to know and understand scripture will strengthen the individuals in their pursuit to be more like Christl. Disciple-making will become a key practice to help LifePoint attendees grow spiritually and multiply disciples. The project director used an equipping model with three phases to accomplish this project. Phase one of the equipping model was to research several different models of disciple-making, including small groups, Sunday School, gender-based groups, and mentoring, in order to discover common skills used to produce disciples. Phase two consisted of the project director synthesizing the skills discovered in the research into a training course. Phase three was the training workshop with selected adults. By utilizing the research and considering the unique culture of Perdido Bay Baptist Church, a curriculum is developed for the weekend men's leadership retreat.
