The motivation for the project grew out of the realization that the Downtown Phoenix Church needed a framework to help them establish and build relationships with the growing gay community in the downtown area. The project director gathered and analyzed demographics information to more effectively understand the general composition of the population of the city of Sheffield, Alabama, and its surrounding communities. The project director explored the biblical models for evangelism and church growth found in the Bible, gathering resources to provide the strategic planning team with the necessary scriptural and historical support. Next, the project director interviewed pastors and church leaders whose churches are experiencing significant growth in areas with cultural and demographic similarities to that of York Terrace Baptist Church. Finally, utilizing the resources gathered, the project director and a strategic planning team developed an evangelistic, church-growth plan for York Terrace Baptist Church. This method of generalized minstry reproducibility has produced sterile and ineffective churches that function in a way that is more similar to secular organizations that respond to industry trend rhat than rooted in the New Testament, reflecting the community of the Body of Christ.  The solution this situation is ministry reformation.  This project leads a church through a phase of minstry reformation as they discover their minstry purpose and identity through a shared leadership approach. During this 8-week project, students engaged in personal and communal spiritual grwoth activities using various technologies including Samford's learning management system, synchronous videoconferencing, text-based mobile applications, and a Christian video repository.  This project resulted in 50 percent of participants showing evidence toward attaining outcomes, which exceeded the goal of 33 percent. Mental health providers are developing treatment plans.  Yet chaplains and other faith leaders also specialize in guilt, shame, and forgiveness. The project director coached two team leaders to utilize a new tool for the Army's mandated regular performance counseling.  The supervisors utilized the tool monthly for three cycles.  The supervisory relationship and soldier resiliency after the three iterations was compared to before the project to observe changes. The small group leaders who have served for over 4 years have experienced fatigues and burnouts.  Prior to this project, the church did not have a process to help recovering fatigued leaders.  In response to this specific need, the candidate developed and implemented a training program that included lecture, mentoring, practice of various spiritual disciplines, sharing of experiences, and positive encouragement and feedback from peers to help the small group leaders to recover from fatigues and burnouts.  This program prepared the leaders to serve the Lord with renewed strength and spiritual vigor. In the course of 3 months, participants and the candidate learned skills and attitudes to spirituality stay fresh and strong by seeking intimacy with the Lord through exercising various spiritual disciplines.
