The support group described in this study was church-based and culturally sensitive. This study also provided training for church-based support group to help victims immediately after the disaster.The research methodology of this study included both quantitative and qualitative analysis of 45 earthquake victims and 13 church-based support groups co-workers. The results of the research suggested that Christian belief may have a positive effect towards recovery for victims of earthquake. The study answers the following research question. What are the differences between selected male and female single parent concerns and issues that affect their church attendance and participation? The growth of the single parent family in American society necessitates this study. Single parent ministry is a vast mission field that has not been sufficiently infiltrated by the local church. The goal of this research is to begin the discussion securing gender-specific reactions to selected concerns and issues that are associated with attendance and participation in the local church. Six concerns and their associated issues have been selected. Concerns involving the Judgment of Others; Care for Children; Time management and Financial Resources; The Local Church's Response to Single Parenting; Personal Spiritual Growth; and Faith Transference to Children. A core group comprised of unwed single parents, divorced single parents, and widowed single parents, guided the study. Exclusions from the study were: Non-custodial single parents, cohabiting parents, parents who are married and parenting single. The custodial parent was chosen because of his/her reliability and consistency. Published literature beginning with the Bible offers clear guidance on how to approach the good and bad widow, the orphan, the divorced, the unwed, and the poor. Other literature offers sociological and historical data on the single parent family in America. Literature offers limited comparative data on male and female single parents and their religious practices. Because of the limited empirical data this study will contribute to the resources available for future studies. The comparative research data was collected from 112 custodial single parents currently raising children between the ages of birth to eighteen years of age. There are 74 women and 38 men who volunteered to participate using the 37-question online survey research instrument. For greater understanding, five individuals were personally interviewed on seven fundamental questions taken from the survey. More details on the data collection and research procedure will be shared in chapter three. It assumes that healthy churches in urban Africa are both theologically and contextually reflective.  The project opens laying biblical foundations from Hebrew 12:23.  Contextual factors are then presented: urbanization, Maputo's history, globalization in Maputo, cultural contours, and a community analysis of one urban neighborhood.  Six contextual theology/ministry attempts are analyzed.  Fifteen theological institutions are summarized and the results of a survey of church planters are then presented. The study was an action research using a qualitative phenomenological approach. A reflective program, named 'Uncommon-8-weeks' was designed and introduced to the congregants to practice reflection on eight sermons preached for eight consecutive weeks. Research result identified seven aspects of post-preaching reflection: remembering, considering, connecting, self-examining, desiring, planning, and acting. Through a survey, 90% of the churches have some common needs: full time co-workers, being good witnesses, knowing how to evangelize, and adult Sunday school. These problems are mainly related to the lack of Bible teaching and discipleship training. The result shows that proceeding with teaching of personal evangelism and training bears important influence on the growth of believers. The Timothy Three Step Discipleship Training makes a 'seeker' gradually becoming a trainer of others through a 'two way' training relationship. The researcher's project serves as a guide to awaken highly dysfunctional and dying churches--through a theological revisioning--to the mission of God within a culture where the Church is increasingly marginalized.  To test the effectiveness of the researcher's project, two churches were selected as case studies. The thesis will mention Nestorius' position and place in the history of Christian doctrine, or dogma, and will serve to help readers to research and to evaluate Nestorius' Christology on their own. The main methodology of this thesis is Comparative Approaches. There are two other auxiliary methods that will support this thesis. One is Ideological Criticism and the other is Theological Interpretation. The research contents includes: the life and background of Nestorius, the personality of Nestorius, the works of the patriarch (especially the recovered apology of Nestorius: the Bazaar of Heraclides), the comparisons between Nestoruis' Christology and Cyril's Christology, the teaching of Nestorius and Cyril, the reasons why the opponents believe Nestorius' teaching is a heresy and the responses from both the school of Antioch and Nestorius himself, and the debatable points of Nestorius' Christology. The main research area is Nestorius' Christology and his teaching. This project assessed and addressed the risk of compassion fatigue.  Counselors were taught the definition for and characteristics of compassion fatigue and given an assessment to measure the risk.  Six counselors were selected, based on their assessment scores, to participate in an eight-week project.  Participants discovered how the symptoms of compassion fatigue impacted their spiritual, emotional, physical and psychological well-being.
