The process of developing a strategy included forming a strategy development team from local area ministers as well as lay church members who work with college students. This team was involved throughout the process of exploration, planning, development, and the preliminary stage of implementation. The process of implementation in regard to this project was to present the developed strategy to the Directors of Missions from Autauga, Elmore, and Montgomery associations as well as the Director of the office of Collegiate and Student Ministries from the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions. The rejection of approval of this project by the Directors of Missions and the Director of the office of Collegiate and Student Ministries will not determine the success of the project. The goal of this project is to develop and present a strategy. Throughout the years several ministries have been created. Many church leaders have been trained to help the senior pastor carry out the church's daunting task. Each ministry has a leader in charge. Preaching and teaching the Word of God are the cornerstone of Tabernacle Baptist Congregation. Christian education is for the church what water is for a fish. Sunday School plays a vital role in the church's programs. However, Sunday School evangelism has so far been neglected. Can Tabernacle Baptist Congregation have any potential for spiritual growth without the promotion of the Great Commission? The promotion of Sunday School evangelism at Tabernacle Baptist Congregation would enable the author of this thesis project to respond. A congregational profile will enable the author of this thesis project to discover the challenges that this church is facing in promoting Sunday School outreach. Major problem areas identified include the language used to describe biblical holiness and how to apply the subject to contemporary audiences. To address these problems a model continuing education course was designed and presented. Both pre- and postcourse evaluations of participants were conducted. To that end, this these constructs a pastoral storytelling methodology and guidebook. The pastoral storytelling methodology is focused on pastoral care situations such as in-office counseling, hospital visitation, and in-home visitation. But the methodology is not limited to use in formal counseling situations. It is designed so that it can be used any time and place pastoral care is needed. The project director researched methods of curriculum development. A curriculum development method was selected and a six part workshop was developed to equip the selected members for incarnational ministry. My thesis-project tested a five-week annual small group curriculum at Harvest Bible Chapel and the results strongly recommend the use of the curriculum. The goal of designing a holistic discipleship model is to enable Christians to understand more fully and practice more intentionally the true nature of God's reign which we have been called to witness and serve, which is the redemption of all creation. The chapters build toward the development of a curriculum designed to offer every disciple a deeper biblical understanding of God's reign, a clear process of growth consistent with this holistic redemptive biblical vision, and a set of right practices to follow in each dimension of growth, regardless of the participant's particular sense of vocation. To explore this notion, the author planned and executed a learning and worship experience that demonstrated and discussed spoken word as sacred art for sacred space.
