The project was to change participant's assumptions about questions, to help them realize the importance of questions, and to develop skills in using questions. The purpose was to discern any change in their thinking about questions and in their use of questions. Scripture, church history, and liturgical traditions document the primacy of parental involvement. Parents, however, reveal confusion and discomfort with mentoring roles. This thesis project created a survey to examine experiences of Episcopal Church school parents whose children were involved in Communion preparation. The thesis project revealed an improved level of parental comfort having had the opportunity o reflect and reclaim their faith development. Fifteen marketplace leaders participated in the three-month program. participants. Participants were pretested and posttested using both quantitative and qualitative measurements. There were five sessions and six couples involved. The program was designed to help couples grow in love, assess key relational issues and increase in their appreciation of marital enrichment. They spent another three months compiling the long-rage plan based on their reflections from the reading and workshops, the feedback from parents who have autistic kid(s), the responses of eighty-nine surveyees, and the insight gained from the analysis of the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats while adopting a new ministry. This research project used both quantitaive and qualitative methods to determine the effect of premarital counseling combined with a couple-to-couple mentoring emphasizing self-disclosure and communication. The participants were couples who were members of the Churches of Christ and who claimed they were virgins before their marriage date. Research indicates this would reduce the likelihood of recifivism. The University of Rhode Island Change Assessment Scale was used to measure inmate attitudes toward change.
