This ministry seeks to engage both care giver and care receiver with Christ whose redeeming presence brings wholeness and wellness. It is a case study involving seven Stephen Ministry leaders. The project explored the understanding of pastoral care as 'cure of souls' and the engagement of intentional presence in that cure, Christ's presence and human presence. The project explores how a theology of play may deepen understandings of worship and allow for the recover of a joyful attitude about a church's life together. The author of this work was pastor of an urban church, the majority of whose members did not live in the community. The church's urban neighbors, local public housing residents, partnered with the church and other faith leaders to defend their rights as they were being pushed aside for the redevelopment of the city's public housing units. Focus was given to the sophomore level internship courses to create an observation level experience designed to engage the Northwest culture. The author researched models of contextual theology in preparation for student experiences. Ultimately the project led to a successful grant proposal to the M. J. (Carl Gustav), 1875-1961","Social groups","Small groups"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This project proposes that a small group process using Carl Jung's theory of individuation and the story of Jesus' baptism as a metaphor for individuation helps middle-aged adults expand their personal and spiritual awareness and thus mature in life and faith. The research method used was Participatory Action Research (PAR) in an eight-week, small group process. All adults were able to identify personal growth as a result of the experience.
