- This D.Min. project was conducted during a pastor (interim) transition at South Congregational Church UCC in Middletown Connecticut. After the departure of their long-term pastor, South Church faced internal, communal, and cultural transitions. This project used narrative tools to reconnect the congregation to their biblical, communal and personal faith stories. The three tools were 1) a Lenten-Eastertide sermon series; 2) remembering the church's history using their 250th anniversary banners; and 3) an Appreciative Inquiry process. Using these narrative tools South Church successfully adopted a new way of seeing, hearing, thinking, and speaking in narrative form during a pastor transition.
