  • The hypothesis is that disciplined use of the prescribed mental imagery model will decrease the level of stress within the participant. The primary tool involves daily use of an imagery model outlined in Getting Well Again, (Simonton, Simonton, and Creighton) with five persons whose physical dysfunction of prolonged duration serves as an indicator of stress. The group meets weekly for reporting and sharing for a three month period. A pre-test and post-test procedure uses the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (Spielberger, Gorsuch, and Luschene). Testing results are positive and hopeful, but statistically insignificant and ambiguous.
