  • This study examines the involvement of African Americans in the Church of God. Included herein is a brief introduction to the history of the denomination which had its beginning in the foothills of the Tennessee mountains. Also, because of its import to the work, there is a chronology of Black involvement in the Church of God present-day leadership. He addresses the need for adequate record of African participation in the denomination. He bases this need on the results of surveys conducted among the church's Black membership. He has included a proposal for Black and White participation using one state as prototype.
