Abstracto

As young and often inexperienced men are becoming youth pastors, there is an increased demand to provide training for this specialized area of ministry. A long range training focusing upon a philosophy and strategy of ministry needs to be communicated. This project attempts to provide some of that training through advanced Sonlife program that builds upon the basic seminar and helps youth pastors develop additional skills in effective church-related youth work. The project involved three major steps; the development of a biblical basis for youth work defining a model youth ministry based upon biblical principles; an assessment of the training needs of youth pastors; and the training with the materials consisting of a five-day seminar at Moody Bible Institute, an evaluation of that seminar, the seminar workbook, a teacher's manual, and evaluation sheets.
