This project proposes that preachers in the postmodern era can improve their effectiveness and discover transforming power for preaching by consulting their listeners intentionally. The project engages groups of church members in actual sermon preparation and response in relation to biblical texts over a period of three years. The entire congregation enters the dialogue as God moves and changes them through the sermons they hear. Preachers can indeed better themselves by forming a partnership with listeners in sermon preparation that creates clear connections between pew and pulpit.
