Abstrakt

This pastoral research project is written out of the concern for an often forgotten group of people in our church--those living with life-threatening illness and the ones who support them. The pastor has a wonderful opportunity to stand alongside of these durign a most difficult time in their lives. The project is presented in five sections including why this is a necessary ministry, a survey of the literature, interviews with persons who have cared for a terminally ill person, and recommendations as to further studies. The author also discovered that pastoral care provided a great benefit to the individuals during this time in their lives.
