Abstrakt

This project developed from six years of work in premarital education in a large Roman Catholic parish in New England. The study discusses the context of premarital education and surveys trends in current literature. It also describes the educational, psychological, and theological foundations of a program 'Take My Hand, Share My Life' which was designed and piloted for group work with engaged couples. Included is an analysis of two evaluation data: end-of-the-course evaluations by participants and results of research offering ideas in method, content, and process leading to pre-wedding and post-wedding education/counseling.
