Abstrakt

This project proposes and tests a model for preaching expository messages from Old Testament wisdom texts. Chapter 1 provides the general definitions, limitations, and context for the project. Chapter 2 offers an overview of wisdom literature, presents a definition of the genre, and discusses its general characteristics. Chapter 3 provides an overview of Christian approaches to proclaiming wisdom literature throughout Christian history and outlines a proposed model for preaching from the wisdom genre. Chapter 4 outlines the implementation of the model at Blue Valley Baptist Church in Overland Park, Kansas. Chapter 5 offers reflection and evaluation of the project.
